I have always been a chocolate lover, a chocolate enthusiast, and maybe even a chocolate snob; so when I found this chocolate cake recipe in my Grandma’s collection, I just had to try it. This recipe was super easy to make and has the richest chocolate flavor I have ever tasted in a cake, and I made it for my families vacation, and it held up the whole weekend and still tasted great! How to make Easy Chocolate Cake
First thing to do is to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then take the chocolate, and butter and melt them in the boiling over medium heat until smooth. Then remove from the heat.
In a bowl, mix together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Then add this to the chocolate mixture.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sifting is important and ensures that the batter won’t be lumpy. Add the dry mixture to the chocolate mixture. then add the coffee and stir well!
Pour into two 8 inch, greased, cake pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes
Mix together the frosting until smooth, and frost the cake once it is cool

Cake
- 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate (or 1/3 cup chocolate chips)
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 eggs
- 1 ¾ cups sugar
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup hot coffee
Frosting
- ½ cup butter (room temperature)
- 2 tbs milk
- 1 ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 2 oz baking chocolate (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla
