Easy Homemade Brownies

My grandma's easy homemade brownie recipe is easy to make, resulting in delicious, moist, better-than-a-box brownies every time!

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp instant espresso optional
  • 1 Tbs vanilla extract
  • ½ cup butter 1 stick
  • 1 cups sugar
  • ¾ cups flour
  • ¾ cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper or grease well with cooking spray
  • In a large bowl, add the eggs and cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, espresso powder, and vanilla and beat well until combined and smooth.
  • Melt the butter, and add to a sperate bowl, then add the sugar and mix to combine well.
  • Add the butter sugar mix to the cocoa powder mix, and stir well!
  • Add the flour and chocolate chips, and stir until fully combined.
  • Pour batter into pan, and smooth if needed.
  • Bkae for 30-35 minutes, you can test for doneness with a toothpick. Moist crumbs are okay, but there shouldn't be wet batter on the tooth pick.
  • Top with a dusting of powdered sugar

Notes

The addition of espresso powder will give any coffee flavor, it will just enhance the chocolate flavor!
If you are a nutty person and enjoy nuts in your brownies, you can add the nut of choice at the same time as the chocolate chips!
