Popcorn is a light and easy snack, but if you’re like me, you like your snacks a little on the sweeter side. I recently bought a popcorn maker, and I know my grandma has an awesome and easy caramel corn recipe so I wanted to give it a shot! I was pleasantly surprised that this recipe was so easy to make, very straightforward, and practically fool-proof! Making caramel can be intimidating, but following her clear instructions, you can get perfect caramel corn every time!

Ingredients you will need

Brown sugar
Baking soda
Butter
Molasses & Cream of Tarter
Light corn syrup

How to make Caramel Corn

  1. First, pop the popcorn! You want about 12 cups of popped popcorn, set the popcorn aside while you make the caramel. Prepare two greased baking sheets.
  2. In a nonstick saucepan add brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and molasses. I got my pan for my wedding, and it is the best quality pan I have ever used.
  3. Stir constantly, and bring to a boil. Let the mixture boil for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and add the baking soda and cream of tarter.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and mix carefully. Once it is mixed, pour popcorn onto two greased baking sheets and spread it out.
  5. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour, stirring halfway through.
  6. Take out of the oven, and let the popcorn cool, then enjoy!
