It is blackberry season at my house! My husband and I bought our home over a year ago and our wonderful half-acre is riddled with blackberry bushes. Which is a big problem, but also a fun blessing! I have my Grandma’s Blackberry Pie recipe which can be easily made into a crumble! If you do not have a plethora of blackberry bushes in your backyard, this recipe can be made from frozen berries, just be sure to defrost them before baking! Nothing compares to a fresh blackberry pie; you will be amazed at how easy this is to make!

Ingredients you will need

  • Blackberries
  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Cornstarch – essential to thicken the filling
  • Lemon Juice
  • Pie crusts – if you want to make a homemade pie crust, get my grandma’s recipe for her “no-fail pie crust” here.

Blackberry Crumble Recipe Tips!

This recipe is already speedy and easy to assemble, and then bake, but if you want to make the process even quicker, use a store-bought crust! They are just as delicious, but will take even more time off the total recipe if you are in a crunch!

If you choose to make your own crust, check out my Easy Pastry Crust recipe! It is very simple to make, and foolproof! Make sure you add enough water so that the crust holds together!
