My Grandpa is, unfortunately, allergic to chocolate. So it was no surprise to me when I was flipping through my grandma’s recipes, to find one for Blonde Brownies! My mom has made these for my grandpa, but I have never tried them. Personally, I am a chocolate kinda girl, but I am also open-minded and willing to try new things! The note on this recipe also said “boogie bars” which I thought was fitting just in time for Halloween! I was pleased to find these blonde brownies are delicious (though I did add some chocolate) and they also took less than 10 minutes to whip up, making them a fast-and-easy treat!
What is the difference between a Brownie and a Blondie?
They’re very similar in that they both contain flour, eggs, butter or oil, and sugar. However, Blondies are vanilla-based and use brown sugar, whereas Brownies are chocolate-based and use white. They’re both delicious!

Recipe Tips & Tricks
- These brownies will be gooie when they come out of the oven. Allow them to sit for 10 minutes in order to set up!
- Add chocolate chips! You can add up to 1 cup of chocolate chips, or if you are feeling extra excited, M & Ms!
- Bake in a clear glass pan. I prefer clear pans becuase you can see if the bottom of the brownies are cooked all the way through, I love my clear pyrex pans, they are very durable and come with lids!
