Recipe Tips & Tricks
One thing I have learned about myself in my blogging adventure is that I am a cocoa snob! I never thought it made a difference, but boy was I wrong! This cocoa powder, aka Dutch Cocoa, I have found to have the best, richest, flavor. Dare I say WAY better than Hershey’s?! I will never go back to another cocoa powder! I attribute using dutch cocoa to how rich and delicious these cookies turn out to be!
Another awesome trick I learned is to substitute baking chocolate for cocoa powder! For every ounce of baking chocolate, you can substitute 3 Tbs of cocoa powder plus 1 1/2 tsp of butter/oil. To make extra chewy cookies, I recommend using butter.
If you want these to best resemble Crumbl Dark Chocolate Dream cookies, use two scoops of a cookie scoop. Mine is a 1.5 Tablespoon cookie scoop, and I stack two scoops on top of each other, and using extra chocolate chips, press into the top to flatten the cookies slightly.
