Welcome to Inherited Recipes.

I inherited recipes from my grandma, now I am baking my way through her collection.

Welcome to Inherited Recipes. Follow along as I bake my way through my very special inheritance: thousands of recipes from my amazing grandma. Discover delicious old-fashioned baking and connect with culinary history as I make my way through her collection. You can expect to see easy vintage baking recipes, decades-old cake recipes, treasured cookie recipes, and many family holiday classic recipes! I started this blog as a creative outlet to combine my love for baking and creating things while allowing me to share one of the things my grandma was most known for: her baking.

Easy Vintage Baking Recipes

I love baking, and I love vintage things. Her collection of recipes combines those two things into one! Some of the recipes even include notes that she has written on these cards from before I was even born! My Grandma lived to be over 90 years old, so some of these recipes are old-fashioned, but I am excited to try and share them. I know that these recipes are tried and true favorites that she has baked throughout her years, so that makes them a great source for finding your new favorite recipe!

Each recipe is a piece of our family’s history, either carefully written in her hand or lovingly taped onto a notecard after being clipped from a magazine, all stored in shoeboxes. I have now inherited those shoeboxes and will be going through and testing recipes to see what she was baking back when my dad was a kid. My grandma worked in a large school as their head cook, and also did a lot of baking for her church, so there are even some baking notes as well, like how to adjust the recipe to feed 100 people! I even break down the tools I use while baking.

If you have a fondness for antiques, a soft spot for vintage charm, or simply a passion for baking, I truly believe this blog will bring you joy as I explore and share my grandma’s collection of vintage and treasured family recipes.
