Grandma's Skillet Apple Crisp

A classic apple crisp recipe that stands the test of time, and can be easily adjusted to be everyones favorite!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbs cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 6 cups sliced about 3 large apples

Topping

  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat over to 350 degrees F
  • Slice 3 large apples and mix together with sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice. Add the apples into a cast iron skillet that is oven-safe.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together quick oats, flour, brown sugar, nutmeg, and melted butter. Layer this mixture over the apples in the skillet.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown!

Notes

This recipe is so easy to make, and can be adjusted to anyones liking. Sometimes I will add in some other berries to give it a mixed berry flavor, or even add a scoop of ice cream on top. Recipes like this are so easily adaptable!
