Looking for a new way to bake sourdough bread? Make Sourdough Skillet Bread with this easy-to-follow recipe. Made with the goodness of tangy sourdough starter, this bread boasts a crispy crust and a soft, airy interior that’s perfect for any occasion.
This is one of the few recipes that I did not get from my grandma, but it was because of her that I was inspired to even bake in the first place. This is one of the easiest sourdough recipes you will find, I love baking bread in a cast-iron skillet, for the shape and flavor! But this recipe can also be made in 2 loaf pans.
Sourdough is one of my favorite things to make and this recipe is the easiest and most fool-proof bread recipe that I have found. Nothing tastes better than a fresh-cut slice of sourdough bread. It also makes a great egg sandwich or jelly toast! Sourdough also has lots of health benefits.
Because sourdough uses natural yeast to leaven, this recipe takes two days to complete, so keep that in mind when you start it 🙂
Ingredients you will need
Sourdough Starter – A nice & active sourdough starter
Flour – All-purpose flour will work great, or you can use bread flour
Water
Salt
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- If you do not have a sourdough starter, King Arthur Flour has a very comprehensive guild to make your own! (which is how I made mine) Or you can buy one, I recommend this one from Amazon.
