Easy Sourdough Skillet Bread

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Sourdough starter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ¾ flour
  • cups flour
  • cup water
  • tbs salt

Instructions

Day 1

  • Mix your sourdough starter, flour and water to a large bowl.
  • Mix in a stand mixer with the dough hook for 2-3 mins. Or knead on a lightly floured surface for 7-8 minutes. The dough will be soft and a little sticky
  • Place the dough back into an oiled bowl and let it rise again until doubled about 10-12 hours.

Day 2

  • Place into a cast-iron skillet that has been dusted with flour.
  • Once the loaf has risen bake in an oven at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes and cool on a rack for at least 1 hour.

Notes

TIP: if it is a warm day, place the bowl of dough in your warm car and it will rise beautifully)
